The 4th Baniday, Banijay’s annual worldwide day of solidarity, was held in France on 3 July.
A record number of people took part, with 180 employees giving up their time for the cause of their choice, from among the 8 activities on offer. Environment, inclusion, the fight against exclusion, the fight against menstrual insecurity, disability and blood donation: it was an intense day, and the enthusiasm was there!
Here are just some of the achievements of this French Baniday :
At Choisy-le-Roi with the Au Fil de L’Eau association, employees collected 15kg of rubbish and 4,500 cigarette butts. Given that one cigarette butt pollutes 500 litres of water, the collection of 4,500 cigarette butts prevented the pollution of 2.27 million litres of water!
In Paris, with the Serve the City association, around a hundred sandwiches, several hygiene kits, twenty hard-boiled eggs and several litres of coffee and tea were distributed during outreach campaigns at the Maison des Métallos, which has been taking in hundreds of (very) young migrants for several months. Fun fact: our employees donated a large number of our Baniday t-shirts to young people in need, which generated a lot of smiles!
In Paris with the Règles Elémentaires association, a crack team of women collected 2,616 sanitary pads in a Monoprix store in the 16th arrondissement, helping 130 women in precarious menstrual situations.
In Paris with the Cravate Solidaire association, the participants sorted almost 1 tonne of clothes (986 kg!) destined for people in professional reintegration.
In Paris at the Banijay France offices, some 15 brave souls took to the stage with Fabrika Pulsion to improvise on the theme of inclusion, diversity and harassment.
In Paris at LOV Group, employees put themselves in the shoes of our 2 blind facilitators Evelyne and Pascal from the HASC agency (le Handicap Au Service des Compétences), and met their 2 guide dog companions, Jump and Surf.
In Paris at LOV Group, participants in the biodiversity-bee workshop made 25 seed bombs, each of which will give rise to 30 flowers and melliferous plants, each of which will attract between 10 and 20 pollinating insects: thanks to these 25 seed bombs, 15,000 pollinators will be saved and fed!
Finally, around 15 people are planning to give blood in one of the EFS Donation Centres.
Well done to all the Banijay and LOV employees for their commitment, and see you next year!
